movie poster From the beloved novels by Michael Bond and producer David Heyman (HARRY POTTER), PADDINGTON tells the story of the comic misadventures of a young Peruvian bear (voiced by Firth) who travels to the city in search of a home. Finding himself lost and alone, he begins to realize that city life is not all he had imagined - until he meets the kindly Brown family who read the label around his neck that says "Please look after this bear. Thank you," and offer him a temporary haven. It looks as though his luck has changed until this rarest of bears catches the eye of a museum taxidermist.

"'Paddington' is, ultimately, about how a newcomer can become part of a family, and about how good manners and marmalade can get you out of any tricky situation - delightful messages, at any age." -- Moira MacDonald, Seattle Times

"Paddington is a wonder: warm, gentle, well-acted, funny without being stupid." -- Dan Kois, Slate

1 hr, 35 min, Rated PG - for mild action and rude humor.

movie poster Inspired by the 1987 true story, "McFarland, USA" follows novice runners from McFarland, an economically challenged town in California's farm-rich Central Valley, as they give their all to build a cross-country team under the direction of Coach Jim White (Kevin Costner), a newcomer to their predominantly Latino high school. Coach White and the McFarland students have a lot to learn about each other but when White starts to realize the boys' exceptional running ability, things begin to change. Soon something beyond their physical gifts becomes apparent—the power of family relationships, their unwavering commitment to one another and their incredible work ethic. With grit and determination, the unlikely band of runners eventually overcomes the odds to forge not only a championship cross-country team but an enduring legacy as well. Along the way, Coach White realizes that his family finally found a place to call home and both he and his team achieve their own kind of American dream.

"A feel-good movie that earns all those good feelings, 'McFarland, USA' might be running on a predetermined track, but the heart it shows along the journey is what makes it a winner." -- James Rocchi, The Wrap

2 hrs, 9 min, Rated PG - for thematic material, some violence and language.
